Legal Requirements for Notice of Meetings

The Cherokee County Board of Education will hold its Regular monthly meeting on the FIRST Thursday of each month and will typically convene at 5:30 pm. Notice of any changes to this regular meeting schedule will be posted on the Cherokee County Schools website, www.cherokee.k12.nc.us and via local media sources (if time permits).

When the Cherokee County Board of Education calls a Specially-Called meeting, notice of the meeting to include date, time, location, and purpose will be posted at least 48 hours prior to the meeting date on the Cherokee County Schools website, on the front door of the Central Office building, and notice will be given to local media sources.

When the Cherokee County Board of Education calls an Emergency meeting, notice of the meeting to include date, time, location, and purpose will be posted on the Cherokee County Schools website, on the front door of the Central Office building, and will be given to local media sources. Such notice will be made immediately after notice has been given to the members of the Board.
