Dental Programs
-Lori Nicholson is our public dental hygienist through the NC Oral Health Section. As part of our regular school preventive dental health program, she conducts dental screenings for students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 2nd grade and 4th grade. The screening is done using gloves, a flashlight and a new tongue depressor for each child.  The screening serves as an educational, positive dental experience and also collects information to help improve the Children’s Dental Health programs. Children who see a dentist regularly will also benefit from the screening for the educational opportunity. A form letter will be sent home to show your child’s results. Our public dental hygienist also provides dental referrals and sealants to identified students.
-The Smile dental program is a mobile dentist program that comes to each school in the county. They provide cleanings, varnish, fluoride treatments, and minor dental procedures.
