Cherokee County Schools is accepting applications for the following positions:

  

POSITION:

School Nurse Part-time (20 hours a week)

LOCATION:

District

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Degree Requirements:  Registered Nurse, Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) currently licensed in North Carolina required. Experience as a school nurse preferred.







JOB DESCRIPTION:

·         Active member of school Care Team for at risk students. 

·         Making an assessment of the health needs of the school and developing a health development plan.

·         Supporting, advising, counseling and referring children experiencing mental health problems.

·         Co-coordinating immunization programs.

·         Providing nursing care, support and advice for students.

·         Providing training to school-based staff to support children with special healthcare needs

·         Providing support and advice for parents, and school staff on childhood illnesses and the management and control of infection and communicable diseases.

·         Develops and implements documentation systems at both the individual student level and the programmatic level; compiles statistical reports as required by the school system and state agencies.

·         Reviews changing trends in health needs and outcomes.

HOURS:

Part-time.  20 hours a week.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A two-year degree is required and experience working with students is preferred.

School Health Educator

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree Required

·         Candidate will work with community agencies and parent groups to link school safety and drug prevention activities. The candidate will assist with prevention programs such as the peer leadership group SADD but TRU. The individual will serve as liaison between schools in data collection and implement Red Ribbon week campaign. The staff will be charged with the fulfillment of daily performance of Coalition activities as needed.
