Cherokee County Schools is accepting applications for the following positions:



School Nurse Part-time (20 hours a week)




Degree Requirements:  Registered Nurse, Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) currently licensed in North Carolina required. Experience as a school nurse preferred.


·         Active member of school Care Team for at risk students. 

·         Making an assessment of the health needs of the school and developing a health development plan.

·         Supporting, advising, counseling and referring children experiencing mental health problems.

·         Co-coordinating immunization programs.

·         Providing nursing care, support and advice for students.

·         Providing training to school-based staff to support children with special healthcare needs

·         Providing support and advice for parents, and school staff on childhood illnesses and the management and control of infection and communicable diseases.

·         Develops and implements documentation systems at both the individual student level and the programmatic level; compiles statistical reports as required by the school system and state agencies.

·         Reviews changing trends in health needs and outcomes.



20 hours a week
