We are now accepting applications for the following position 


Principal -- Andrews Middle School

Applicant must have completed an approved program in school administration at the masters level or above to be considered for this position.  

Exceptional Children’s Teacher  – District

(K-12 Exceptional Children’s Certification required.)

K-6 Certified Teacher -  District

 (Certification in area is required.)

6-9 Certified Teacher – Ranger Middle School

(Certification in English Language Arts and Social Studies preferred.)


Physical Education Teacher -  District

(K – 12 Physical Education Certification required. Prefer someone with experience with middle/high school sports and coaching experience.)


High School Math Teacher – District

(Certification in area required.)


Business, Finance, and Information Technology TeacherDistrict

 (Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education and Microsoft Office Specialist Certification.)


High School Science Teacher – District

(Certification in area is required.)


Trade and Industry Carpentry  High School Teacher – The Oaks Academy

(Trade & Industry Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Six years related carpentry work experience required.  Will be required to teach Introduction to Trade and Industry course, Core and Sustainable Construction, and Carpentry I and II.)


School Counselor – District

(Completion of an approved program in School Counseling at the Master’s level or above and must have passed the Praxis exam or a minimum of 24 hours  completed in coursework toward School Counseling.)

Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors

Cherokee County Schools is now accepting applications for Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors.

Successful Applicants must possess a valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License with

P & S endorsements; CCS will train interested individuals.


Applicants must also meet the following criteria:

·         Must be 18 years of age

·         Clean driving record

·         Clear criminal background check

·         Pass pre-employment drug screen as well as random drug screening (if employed by CCS)

·         Ability and willingness to work with students and adults


Bus Driver training will be offered to interested applicants. The NC DMV requires that potential drivers pass the NC School Bus Driver written and road tests. The NC DMV also requires all new driver applicants to obtain a Commercial Learners’ Permit before any behind the wheel training, as well as pre-employment drug screening.
