Job Description:


  • Managing foodservice program in an individual school according to system policies, procedures and methods

  • Cooperates with principal and teachers to promote School Nutrition Program’s educational values

  • Supervises and instruct foodservice personnel

  • Maintains high standards of food preparation and service with emphasis on appetizing appeal, maximum nutritive value and flavor

  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety

  • Maintain records of cash, production, supplies and equipment

  • Under limited supervision, must be able to work independently and possess decision making skills

  • Process system wide payrolls both semi-monthly and end of month including reconciling all payrolls and related liabilities

  • Perform complex technical and fiscal governmental account work in the Finance Department.  Work involves overseeing disbursement and accounting of payroll related liabilities, reviewing and reporting all ACA (Affordable Health Care) related data

  • Responsible for reporting all Workers Comp claims and related reports, Coordinating Short Term Disability and Extended Short Term Disability through the Retirement System

  • Process monthly and quarterly reports in a timely manner.   Duties may vary depending on circumstances



  • High School graduate with a two year degree or equivalent college level work;

    Bachelor degree in business or related field preferred.    

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience ng of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping   

  • Familiar with LINQ and the AS400 operating systems

  • This is a finance/ HR position with the responsibility of processing all payrolls

  • Maintain and review all payroll liability payments, reporting and reviewing ACA payroll related data, and all other payroll reporting

  • Conduct meeting with new hires to go over enrollment and answer any questions regarding payroll

  • Conduct exit meetings with employees leaving to explain close out procedures, when benefits terminate, etc.

  • Prepare retirement application for employees retiring and explain the retirement process

  • Communicate with staff periods of open enrollment and instructions on how to enroll or make changes to current benefits

Middle School Business Computer Skills Teacher –

Ranger Middle School/Hiwassee Dam Middle School

(Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education required (North Carolina teaching license and certified in 760 Business Education grades 7-12 or 78760 Business Education grades 6-9).  Proficient use of 2016 Microsoft Office, Google Certified and Moodle preferred.

K – 12 Music Teacher – District

Technology Technician I District

(Applicants need to have graduated from a two year college or technical school with a degree in a related field and two years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in computer and peripheral troubleshooting in an enterprise context is preferred.)
Successful Applicant Expectations:

Individual will support and maintain both administrative and instructional technology software and networks. 
This work includes repair of technology-related equipment. Individual will identify problems and take appropriate corrective action, as well as, provide first response support from the system level for the maintenance and operation of computers, software, and networks at the building level.
Individual installs and upgrades technology-related equipment in network and stand-alone environments. 
Individual is familiar with reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
Individual has the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Individual has the ability to climb a ladder.

Intensive Intervention Teacher – Andrews Middle School

Position Responsibilities:

1.      Provide academic instructional intervention to students performing in the “Below Basic” and “Far Below Basic” level in all academic areas.

2.      Familiar and able to teach students who are on the North Carolina Extended Standard Course of Study.

3.      Be able to, at least once a week, analyze progress data on a student’s IEP and goals; and use data to adjust instructional methods in weekly lesson plans.

4.      Participate willingly in professional development to deepen understanding of effective, research-based instruction in the teaching of reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills for students who are intellectually disabled.

Required Qualifications:

A current North Carolina Teaching License for Severe/Profound Handicapped 88002 and/or Mentally Handicapped 88081.

High School Math Teacher – District

Job Description:

  • Performs routine, manual work cleaning and maintaining buildings.

  • Controls building heating and air conditioning equipment.

  • Performs recurring tasks in accordance with established practices and cleaning schedules.

  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.

  • Skill in the use of small equipment used in routine cleaning.

  • Ability to understand and follow simple oral or written directions.

Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors

Successful Applicants must possess a valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License with

P & S endorsements; CCS will train interested individuals.


Applicants must also meet the following criteria:

·         Must be 18 years of age

·         Clean driving record

·         Clear criminal background check

·         Pass pre-employment drug screen as well as random drug screening (if employed by CCS)

·         Ability and willingness to work with students and adults


Bus Driver training will be offered to interested applicants. The NC DMV requires that potential drivers pass the NC School Bus Driver written and road tests. The NC DMV also requires all new driver applicants to obtain a Commercial Learners’ Permit before any behind the wheel training, as well as pre-employment drug screening.

21st Century Community Learning Centers Tutor

Minimum Qualification:      Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred or meet the credentials for an

NC Teacher Assistant

Specific Training:                  Appropriate Teacher’s Certificate

                                                Strong people and organizational skills

Experience:                            A teacher or teacher assistant in the participating school preferred

Pay rate:                                 $15.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.      Become thoroughly familiar with the approved grant and its goals.

2.      Assist Site Director in planning and initiating high-quality activities outlined in the grant and in the   

         goals and objectives.

3.      Tutor small group of students in the content areas of reading and math.

4.      Be prepared to teach each day with lessons plans, activities, and resources for STEM, arts education, 

         health enhancing recreational learning activities, health education including drug and violence 

         prevention programs, and character education.

5.      Develop feedback loop between regular school staff and the afterschool program.

6.      Oversee classroom and make sure homework is completed by signing off on the Homework 

         Completion sheet.

7.      Assist in maintaining adequate control, discipline, and ensure safety of students as outlined in 

         Cherokee County Schools Code of Student Conduct.

8.      Assist in developing and implementing a program of creative classroom instruction, including 

         activities involving academic enrichment, activities aligned to STEM, and activities to promote 

         character education.

9.      Assist the site director in maintaining all necessary records as described in the S.M.A.R.T. goals of 

         the grant.

10.  Participate in professional development training and workshops:  Reading & Math Strategies, 4-H Adult Leader Training, Engineering Is Elementary Training, Trimble Sketchup 3-D Modeling Program, LEGO Robotics, Mendez Too Good for Drugs and Violence After School Curriculum, Vestibular Skill Building.

11.  Welcome, supervise, and provide direction for volunteers assigned to your classroom.

12.  Ensure room is cleaned before leaving.
