  • Knowledge of and experience with programming for positive behavioral intervention and supports, crisis prevention intervention, behavior intervention plans, functional behavioral assessments and manifestation determination reports
  • Knowledge of and experience in CECAS; IEP process
  • CPI Trainer Certification (Non-violent Crisis Intervention) preferred

Job Description:


  • Managing food service program in an individual school according to system policies, procedures and methods.
  • Cooperates with principal and teachers to promote School Nutrition Program’s educational values. 
  • Supervises and instruct food service personnel.
  • Maintains high standards of food preparation and service with emphasis on appetizing appeal, maximum nutritive value, and flavor.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety
  • Maintain records of cash, production, supplies and equipment.
  • Any current school nutrition employee interested in the position of cafeteria manager may submit a letter of interest to apply for the position.

  • Able to remain standing for duration of shift

Job Description:

  • Final prep for breakfast and lunch

  • Serving and cleaning of kitchen/serving area/dining area and other duties assigned by cafeteria manager

  • Training as a backup cashier.

Hours:  Vary by school for a maximum of 207 days per school year

Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors

Cherokee County Schools is now accepting applications for Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors.

Successful Applicants must possess a valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License with

P & S endorsements; CCS will train interested individuals.


Applicants must also meet the following criteria:

·         Must be 18 years of age

·         Clean driving record

·         Clear criminal background check

·         Pass pre-employment drug screen as well as random drug screening (if employed by CCS)

·         Ability and willingness to work with students and adults


Bus Driver training will be offered to interested applicants. The NC DMV requires that potential drivers pass the NC School Bus Driver written and road tests. The NC DMV also requires all new driver applicants to obtain a Commercial Learners’ Permit before any behind the wheel training, as well as pre-employment drug screening.
