K-12 Band Teacher -  District

Head Varsity Men’s Basketball Coach – Andrews High School

(Must hold a North Carolina Teaching Certification.) 

The Head Men’s Basketball Coach will:

  • Abide to NFHS and NCHSAA Rules, and the Cherokee County School Board policies.

  • Provide a minimum of five years of documented success overseeing a basketball program.

  • Instruct student athletes in the fundamental skills, unity, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.

  • Plan and develop the basketball program to ensure compliance with established guidelines and expectations for Andrews High School and the NCHSAA.

  • Model, promote, and will possess the highest moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence of our student-athletes

  • Develop and promote good community relations among parents, administration, players, staff, and various community and school stakeholders.

  • Have the ability to work with community youth programs.  

  • Hold or ability to acquire the NFHS coaching requirements (prior to the first day of competition), CPR/AED Training.

  • Hold or ability to acquire a North Carolina CDL license.    

Cherokee County Schools has part-time vacancies in the School Nutrition Program


Effective Start Date:  August 23, 2016



  • High School Diploma preferred or equivalent

  • Able to remain standing for duration of shift

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Computer skills a plus

  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred

  • ServSafe Certified preferred

Job Description:

  • Final prep for breakfast and lunch

  • Serving and cleaning of kitchen/serving area/dining area and other duties assigned by cafeteria manager

  • Training as a backup cashier.


Hours:  Vary by school for a maximum of 207 days per school year

6-9 Certified Teacher – Ranger Middle School

(Certification in English Language Arts and Social Studies preferred.)


Business, Finance, and Information Technology TeacherDistrict

 (Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education and Microsoft Office Specialist Certification.)


High School Science Teacher – District

(Certification in area is required.)


School Counselor – District

(Completion of an approved program in School Counseling at the Master’s level or above and must have passed the Praxis exam or a minimum of 24 hours  completed in coursework toward School Counseling.)

Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors

Cherokee County Schools is now accepting applications for Bus Drivers and Bus Monitors.

Successful Applicants must possess a valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License with

P & S endorsements; CCS will train interested individuals.


Applicants must also meet the following criteria:

·         Must be 18 years of age

·         Clean driving record

·         Clear criminal background check

·         Pass pre-employment drug screen as well as random drug screening (if employed by CCS)

·         Ability and willingness to work with students and adults


Bus Driver training will be offered to interested applicants. The NC DMV requires that potential drivers pass the NC School Bus Driver written and road tests. The NC DMV also requires all new driver applicants to obtain a Commercial Learners’ Permit before any behind the wheel training, as well as pre-employment drug screening.
